NWU opens its doors with First-day Blast 2022

After two years of virtual classes, Northwestern University began the academic year with an in-person event—its First-day Blast from September 3-5, 2022.

The First Day Blast happens every start of the school year with showcases of different student services, experiences, and opportunities that new Northwesternians can avail of.

The three-day event was initiated by the University Supreme Student Council headed by Jezreel Caunca. It included a campus tour for freshmen from the different colleges, as well as fun activities where fifteen merchants from the province participated. University partners Globe and Talk n Text also put up activity booths.

“They are willing to get in NWU events every time to support NWU with their ventures and following the CHAMPS way of life here in the university, I believe that we are also able to help small growing businesses when it comes to their exposure, sales and tightly knitting the university and pop-up/merchant communities,” Sir Rashed Reyes, Marketing Officer, said.

“As a freshman, first-day blast was fun; it helps us regain the face-to-face vibe for the past two years, the food and drinks are great, the campus tour is entertaining and lastly, NWU is very welcoming to all students,” Patrick F., an engineering student, said.
