Northwestern University is poised to enter a new era of research, creativity, and technological advancement as it officially launches the NWU–DOST Innovation Hub on November 20, 2025, at 9:00 AM. This landmark event marks a major milestone in the university’s commitment to fostering a culture of innovation, entrepreneurship, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
The Innovation Hub—fondly known as iHub—is envisioned as a dynamic space where students, faculty, researchers, and industry partners converge to explore ideas that address real-world problems. Designed with modern creative corners, prototyping zones, and collaborative workspaces, the Hub reflects a forward-thinking environment that encourages experimentation and breakthrough solutions.
Developed in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), the Hub represents a strategic investment in strengthening NWU’s capabilities in research and development. Equipped with state-of-the-art smart board technology, a 3D printer, high-powered computers, and versatile ideation areas, the facility will support innovators across disciplines—from engineering and business to social sciences and the creative fields.
The launch signifies not only the unveiling of a physical space but also the beginning of a unified vision championed by the Research, Community, Social Development, and Internationalization (RCSDI) Office. Through the Innovation Hub, NWU positions itself as a catalyst for regional and national development, empowering young innovators and fueling a thriving innovation ecosystem in Ilocos Norte and beyond.
Students, faculty members, researchers, government representatives, and industry partners are invited to witness the historic launch as NWU opens the doors to limitless possibilities for innovation, collaboration, and societal impact
