NWU University President Atty. Ferdinand S. Nicolas Joins Global Leaders at UNESCO World Futures Day 2025

Northwestern University proudly shares the successful participation of University President Atty. Ferdinand S. Nicolas at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris for World Futures Day 2025.

President Nicolas served as a panelist in the session titled “Anticipating Systemic Changes in an Era of Volatility,” where he joined global leaders and foresight practitioners to explore how institutions can strengthen resilience, deepen futures literacy, and uphold anticipatory governance in a time of rapid global shifts.

Representing the Philippines and Northwestern University on the international stage, President Nicolas presented NWU’s ongoing work in integrating Futures Thinking across academic programs and supporting the mandate of the UNESCO Chair on Anticipatory Governance and Regenerative Cities.

This milestone reinforces NWU’s commitment to preparing future-ready learners, building strong international partnerships, and advancing UNESCO’s efforts toward just, equitable, and sustainable futures.

Congratulations to Atty. Ferdinand S. Nicolas for bringing pride to Northwestern University, Ilocos Norte, and Philippine higher education.
