COBE Students receive awards during ICMRSI 2022

Students from NWU’s College of Business Education (COBE) received two Best Presentation Awards during the International Conference in Multidisciplinary Research on Sustainable Innovation (ICMRSI). Organized by Universitas Persada Indonesia Y.A.I and Research Synergy Foundation (RSF), the event was held from February 14-15, 2022 via Facebook Live and Zoom.

Joshua Bry Peralta Agag, a fourth-year student taking up Bachelor in Science in Business Administration (BSBA) Major in Human Resource Management, received the Best Presentation Awards in the human resources track, in behalf of the group, and Grachiel Domingo Ancheta, a fourth-year student taking up BSBA Major in Marketing Management, received the Best Presentation Award in the Management Track, in behalf of her team.

Joshua Bry Peralta Agag, together with Myrafel Tolentino and Jahnise Tamayo presented the research titled “Level of Motivation of Northwestern Employees.” It focuses on understanding employees’ motivation, which is one factor that drives a person to increase tasks and performance. The study showed that NWU employees are inherently motivated while working independently. Meanwhile, Grachiel Domingo Ancheta, Patrick Ian Pascual Alonzo, Jessie Amiel Roldan, Danielle Castillo Basilio, and John Davidson Aranda presented the research titled “Effects of Internet Marketing on the Consumer Buying Behavior of Food Business.”

“Our research focuses on the impact of internet marketing on consumer purchasing behavior, particularly in the food industry,” said Grachiel Domingo Ancheta. “In today’s environment, it is a study to see if online marketing is truly attracting customers using the Attention, Interest, Desire, and Action (AIDA) Model. According to our research, there is a significant relationship between internet marketing and consumer buying behavior.”

The conference aspires to promote a global forum for exchanging and sharing ideas and research, as well as extend collaboration in the field of research ecosystems and networks. Eighty-one research studies in several tracks from 13 different countries were presented in the event. Participating countries were Indonesia. Philippines, Malaysia, Yemen, Morocco, Mongolia, Pakistan, Thailand, Nigeria, Oman, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Afghanistan, China, and India.

During the second day of ICMRSI, their mentors and advisers—Dr. Eric C. Parilla, COBE Dean and Vice President for Research, Community Extension, and Integrated Agriculture Development (RCEIAD) and Prof. Marc Edward Abadilla, Officer-in-Charge of BSBA and Accountancy Department—presented a research paper titled “Impacts of Covid-19 to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Supply Chain, and Business Operations in Ilocos Norte.” The study also gives insights and concepts for building stability through improved visibility and responsiveness.
