UCRD spearheads Research Forum
The 8th Faculty and Students Research Forum, an annual activity by University Center for Research and Development (UCRD) in collaboration with Community Extension Center (CEC) and Integrated Agriculture Department (IAD), highlighted the presentations of five faculty researches at the NWU New Media Center last February 2, 2010.

UCRD Director Dr. Estrella Calixto emphasized that the forum was not only to acknowledge the efforts of the researchers but also to disseminate research results which improve quality of lives of people.

Presenters were UCRD Asst. Director Engr. Rolando Javellonar on Design, Development and Evaluation of a Prototype Buko Peeler, UCRD Researcher Engr. Joseph Allan Gamiao on Ambient Temperature Effects of Bricks on a Concrete House, CAS Faculty members Rodalyn Dufourt on Oral Communication Strategy Use of College Students and Rodolfo Pingao on Anti-Bacterial and Wound Healing Property of Ang-Gapang (Graciularia eucheumoides Harvey) and International Researcher Dr. Alicia Pingol on Diasporic Lives: Filipinos in Saudi Arabia. An open forum followed the presentations where some of the participants like SVPAA Dr. Lori Marseli De Castro, Arch. Sherwin Paz, CTE/VJSSGS Dean Dr. Elsie Pilar and CAS Dean Prof. Evelyn Baraoidan inquired on the research papers.

The forum ended with the distribution of certificates to the presenters. Dr. Calixto challenged the participants to make a cutting edge among others and to continue to be productive partners in the field of research. The participants evaluated the event as a success and they hope to join other research activities.
