NWU Architecture students shine in the 1st Governor Imee Marcos Architectural Design Competition
Our university as represented by different groups of third year and fourth year architecture students bagged all the awards in the 1st Governor Imee Marcos Architectural Design Competition for the implementation of Metro Ilocos Tourism Master Plan held last May 26, 2011 at the Ilocos Norte Provincial Capitols' SP Session Hall.

The "Paoay Rangers," headed by Darwin Ortal, members Claire Saladino and Michael Madriaga won the major prize (Category 2) that consists of P25,000.00 and a chance to be an apprentice of Palafox and Associates. The second prize winners were Jerome Cera, Lee Reynon and Mark Arana, and third prize winners were Bernard John Yague, Kathleen Blas, and Jayson Renz Rasalan. For category 1, Arch. Sherwin Paz and Jerwin Coloma won the major prize.

Honorable Governor Imee Marcos plan includes developing Paoay and the towns of San Nicolas, Currimao and the cities of Laoag and Batac for tourism support and development. By having a lot of natural resources and a lot of potential tourist attraction to be developed, enriched, appreciated and to be enjoyed here in Ilocos Norte, the Governor envisions our province to be the northern gateway of the Philippines.
